Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Catching up after several weeks of the worst cold ever, so I'm way behind. When I saw the posts about the most beautiful BMW, I originally thought of the early '70s 3.0CS. So yes, I totally agree with Mr. Rick. Pic of a '71.

    Schiit Lyr+ : Impressions Thread

Fwiw, I have the Lyr+ and both the Bifrost 2 and 2/64. I prefer the former with the Lyr+ (RCA graphite 6SN7GT) and the latter with my all tube integrated amp and speakers. I lean towards liking a warm sound.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Six Moons was actually enjoyable back when Srajan first started it, while living in the US. Then over time, and particularly after moving to and bouncing around Europe, the prose became denser and more verbose and the equipment reviewed more and more expensive and esoteric. I haven't read it in...

Until they made the SACD 1000, which was defective and they never could fix. Cost me over a grand as I had sent it to Dan Wright for his tube output modification. Have avoided Philips products ever since.

I'm a Nicola fan: the sonic heir of Menuhin (whose school she studied at), Grumiaux, and Accardo. Her work supporting youth musical education is inspiring. She also has some interesting and entertaining instructional videos on Youtube.

The more I read it, the more "plankton" as an audio term annoys me. It's just out of left field.

I'd love to go there. My niece was there a couple of years ago, raved about it and sent me a few photos. Sounds fantastic. Oh, and on desktop speakers I have Audioengine A2+ hooked up to the TV in the bedroom. I also have Audioengine A5+ (with a Modi MB2) in the dining area where I really enjoy...

My parents had a more modern, less rococo, looking console unit like that, on which I first listened to albums and FM. Even years later, it still sounded good. Tubes of course. Happy New (tube) Year!

    Earbuds Round-Up

So I finally bit the bullet and ordered another pair of Yinman 600 (the faces of my first pair came loose and one channel cut out) from AVCCK (from whom I ordered the first pair). I was first informed there would be a delay and then was informed the package had been returned by the shipper...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Condolences. Our nearly 13 year old Old English Sheepdog is experiencing his second episode of vestibular disease in the last several months. Not sure if it's benign or not (an MRI is extremely expensive: $4-5K; and the treatment options and prognosis for any of the possible non-benign...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Yes and no. Yes, time is flying by these days: weeks feel like hours did years decades ago. But given my age having to wait at all is frustrating. :dt880smile:
