    REVIEW: Xiaomi Piston 2 - Re-defining "Budget-Fi"?

Correct. The adapter is used to make any device with a small three-pole-plug work with an ipod shuffle or other apple devices. The buttons on the pistons are not active in this scenario. I observed that all the Piston's buttons work with my iPhone 4s, but none of them with the iPod Shuffle...

    REVIEW: Xiaomi Piston 2 - Re-defining "Budget-Fi"?

Just received my Xiaomi Piston (obviously v. 2.1), and I'm very pleased with the sound and the overall quality.  In Germany it seems you can only buy them from one shop via amazon.de. I paid € 21,90 including tax which I consider ok.    They are still burning in, but I like the sound out of...

+1 if it sounds as good as it looks (which I don't doubt in the slightest)

    AKG K812 Pro

I listened to the K-812 recently at our local music equipment store (session.de). I must say I was seriously impressed.   Although I'm a music lover and amateur musician myself, I never cared much about headphones since I acquired an AKG K-500 about 20 years ago, and I preferred to spend my...

    AKG K500 love?

I'm absolutely shure, i've got the transparent ones. So it's version 3. And if these cans originally appeared as early as 1990, that makes sense, I bought mine only in 1994.  I might try the tape mod, although I'm (still, almost 20 years later) very delighted with these headphones. Bought...

    AKG K500 love?

I don't think so. I received a K-400 as a birthday present, but I 'upgraded' (with their consent ;-)) to the K-500. And the overall architecture was more or less the same, while the sound was very different - to my ears the K-500 had almost 'double resolution' so to speak. I can hardly...

    AKG K500 love?

Thank you for this phantastic post! Very interesting.    By looking at the to the diaphragm, I obviously have the version 3 - transparent diaphragm with simpler ridge pattern. But interestingly, I have an all metal plug & adapter.  Like this one (from AKG K-500 appreciation thread):  ...

    Klipsch Image S4 Appreciation Thread

That's exactly how I would put it.  I've owned my image s4i for almost 2 years now, and I really like them. They are the first IEM that I liked *at all*, and to my ears they sound very neutral without colorizing, they seem to be robust (no problem with durability so far), and I had no problem...

    AKG K500 love?

Nice ad! :-) I bought my K-500 which I use to the present day in 1994.    Now, I'm interested in the three different versions of the K-500. How do I keep them apart, and what are the differences? I'm curious! :-)

    Roll Call for Team AKG

I own a K500 for home and a K414P for mobile use.  I wonder if I should buy a K272HD or a K550 for home recording (don't want to hear the backing track when recording with a microphone). Couldn't find a shop to compare them directly yet. Also, what's the best (affordable) in-ear phone from...

    AKG K500 love?

Quote:   I second that. Wonderful stage, transparent and neutral sound. I must say that I use these for all kinds of music, not just Jazz and acoustic instruments; I listened to hours and hours of electronica and studio productions of all kinds - these headphones simply depict what's...

AKG "K267 TIËSTO" - Discussion, Impressions & Review Thread

Quote:   I'm following this thread from Germany, and I'm a little bit shocked that the (very few) retailers that offer them try to sell them at €429, which is in the region of almost $580. The actual street price of the K701, by comparison, is about €200, less than half of that. What are...

Quote:   Of course!  How nice that there's a pair of headphones for every pair of ears.
