Unique Melody Mage Review & Appreciation Thread

Quote: As with any other hobby, if you can afford it, get the best you can :)  You don't want to regret on a purchase like this! (although I'm sure you will LOVE any decent custom IEM)  As for me, the Miracles are way too much money to spend, I already have to lie about spending $400 on...

Unique Melody Mage Review & Appreciation Thread

Great thread, really interested in trying some UMs now, after my Freqshows break on me of course.  The Miracles sounds awesome, but $900usd is too steep for me.  The Mage sounds great though, they definitely look drop dead gorgeous, aside from the princess glittery silver letterings... :)

Custom IEMs Chinese market - There is an explosion in the Chinese market for custom IEMs!!!

I appreciate it Skoog, it is great to know there are a raising number of reputable Chinese made customs, now I don't have to worry about shipping it to the US at high cost, and worry about refits/additional shipping costs.   Hope you enjoy your customs!  I will probably go for a 4 or 6...

HFI (High Fi International) Appreciation and Rooth Impressions Thread - New online company in Japan

Wow, thanks for the wonderful review and pics, I will definitely get a pair of the LS6/8 or CX6/8 (the people in HK say they are about the same) when my Freqs poop out, hopefully they will last two more years assuming I don't drop them again.

Custom IEMs Chinese market - There is an explosion in the Chinese market for custom IEMs!!!

Thanks will do!  May I ask why you had your JH13s reshelled by Rooth and not JH?   If you don't mind, how much did the LS8 set you back?  Are they the same as the CX8?  I've been trying to read up on mingohmw's forum, but my Chinese isn't the best, quite a slow process. :)   Thank you so...

Custom IEMs Chinese market - There is an explosion in the Chinese market for custom IEMs!!!

Wow, this is great!  I will definitely try a pair whenever my Freqs (now out of business) craps out on me.  Hopefully Rooth's business outlasts Freq!  It is great since I am currently in Hong Kong, and MingoHMW (a HK headphone shop I frequent) already has a pretty decent fan base for Rooth...

Help! How to recable UE TripleFi (IEM)

This seems to be your first cable, and it seems that you've never soldered before either, I wouldn't try and use expensive wire on the first recabling job.  Buy some silver-plated-copper wire from Navship on ebay, it is cheap enough, and according to others it is decent.  Buy a couple of the...

Source for molded UE IEM connectors

Ah, thanks for the update!  That is interesting, to use glue-lined heatshrink instead of the housing.  Do you plan on laying some hotglue over the pins and wires first so they can't snap off?

Source for molded UE IEM connectors

Quote: Holy smokessss, that is a lot for bank fees.  He wouldn't accept paypal at all?  That is a shame..  I will go ask him again why not, he did mention he received a lot of inquiries by email, but not all bought from him, perhaps it was because of payment methods.   Lovely looking...

Source for molded UE IEM connectors

When I had my superfis, UE was pretty good with sending me new cables when they crapped out ( I believe three times).  Perhaps they will replace and ship you another for free like they did for me.  In the mean while these plugs are great for diy.  Just make sure you guys hotglue the inside of...

I just bought a mini3 kit, now i gotta buy the soldering tools

Like Si says, DO NOT try building your mini 3 before you mess around with soldering some other stuff, learn how to solder first than build the kit. When I built my mini3, I was no different than you except for the fact I had much more soldering experience. Practice before you dive in!

Source for molded UE IEM connectors

You guys can figure it out. Well, he charges ~$8/pair shipped in a stamped envelope, may as well just buy from him individually. These connectors are truly gems, they are used extensively by a Chinese company that makes custom cables for UE and Westone in Asia. I never knew the connectors...
