Stax Lambda Sig Repair?
The plastic you see is the front is the dust cover, as long as it isnt perforated or torn, you should be good. The diaphragm is between the two hard stators, out of sight.- cetoole

Orthodynamic Roundup
Hey Don, just curious how you ended up damping the various 'pants you have played with? Prefer not to open these too often if it can be avoided, due to concerns about the wood threading getting damaged. Good stuff, just need to tame the midbass a bit more on mine without killing the low bass off...- cetoole

Did I screw up the Millet MiniMax?
Fix it if you have the tools to do so without further damaging the board, leave it out if you don't.- cetoole

Did I screw up the Millet MiniMax?
Repairable, but ouch. Looks like the pads are still somewhat intact, so if you carefully clean the solder out of the real holes with either braid or a pump, you can probably get it to work. Measure your connections after soldering the new parts in though. Also, that cap isnt strictly necessary...- cetoole

PVDF piezo film headphones
The Pioneer SE-700 is a fair bit like you describe, a curved roughly circular piezo film driver, with foam directly providing the tension to the back side. It is actually pretty cool, though needs a fair bit of power. A reasonably beefy headphone amplifier does OK, though other than my 'stats...- cetoole

I am gonna try and make it. Maybe take the bus up, to try and avoid all of those tolls on the NJ turnpike and everything. Not sure about gear, hopefully something fun (read: DIY class A).- cetoole

Orthodynamic Roundup
I would love to hear the SR-X Pro, as I really like my normal SR-X with dead, vinyl-less pads. Too bad pro drivers are so dear. Also, they really need a better padded headband.- cetoole

Orthodynamic Roundup
If the stock pads are anything like the RP18 pads, which they should be, they peel off fairly easily. I just dont want to do that to the pads of someone else's headphones, as they are likely not to go back on as cleanly.- cetoole

Orthodynamic Roundup
I actually still have Marc's T50v1, he left them with me to mess with the damping more. Just waiting for the micropore tape to show up. I am reluctant to peel off the old earpads, but with O2 pads over the stock ones, it doesnt sound too good to me. Weird echo effect going on, among other things.- cetoole

Post pics of your builds....
That is a PMD100-4x PCM1702. PMD200 is in a completely different package, and believe me, it is hard to find. I have been looking, and the only ones I saw were on some chinese auction site. I didnt think of this, but it is difficult to make out. That is an Adcom GCD-750 I modded, new analog...- cetoole
