WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
Quote: Thanks for all the good info. I'm running a iMac with all the latest updates so doubt there is a issue there. I'll do a little testing on my MBP retina that is clean software wise and see if the issue arises. It's no big deal so far, seems to only happen in the beginning of a...- carsany

WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
Quote: Sounds like you may possibly have a issue with the heat. I had mines running almost 24 hours straight and did about 3 hours of listening in a 75 degree room. PSU and WA7 is warm only, surprisingly runs cooler than I would expect. I used both the Sovtek tubes and the EH in this...- carsany

B&W Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 (unboxing and first ride)
I just retired my MM-1's to the bedroom computer and picked up the Focals XS 2.1. Must say, over all the focals may not be as detailed and balanced at low volume as the B&W. But overall the XS sound great for the $$. Both great speakers, but the MM-1's do get hit to the limits sometimes when...- carsany

b&w mm-1 thoughts
I agree with the other reviewer, truly great for near field listening. Definitely not a room filling speaker. Vocals are pretty stunning and bass is balanced very well IMO. Not bad for the $$ especially if you are getting a good discount.- carsany

B&W MM-1 Can i add an external DAC
Did you notice a difference with the MM-1 running a external DAC? I tried it that way via the AUX input and thought it sounded worse. Though I tested it with a so so DAC. Just wondering if you were able to improve the MM-1's sound. Thanks- carsany

Why does my Grado PS 1000 sound "thin"?
I would give some tube amps a try, I just picked up a set of PS500's and felt the same about the sound with my SS amp. It improved greatly on a WA2 setup with a good DAC.- carsany
