Oh, I'm feeling so greedy. I would love to get the HD599, however, I already have HD600/800 ;) Why am I so craving for 599???  

They're okay HF. Obviously, not my favorite, however they are good with an older rock music, like Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull etc. So, I keep them in my collection for now 

This seem to be normal. I'm used to turn this on before I plug my headphones... A bit inconvenient, I guess, however I constantly switch my headphones for different type of music, so in my case that's not too much to do ;)

Yeap, PIBE+HD600 sound really really good together. Can't go wrong.

Well, I have x5 1st gen and it can drive TR-90/250 with no problems. Although, I usually use my x5 with Cayin C5 amp, which is even better ;) Unfortunately, I've never heard TR-80 or Ultrasone.

Isn't x5ii built in amp can drive up to 300 Ohms?

Well, regardless the unusual gain design, I really enjoy the quality of this amp. It works equally well with my LCD2.2F and HD800s. It is growing on me hourly )) It pairs great with Audio GD HFB-28 DAC for sure. Especially considering that HFB-28 can add some gain to the IHA-1.

In order to drive my HD800 I have use my volume knob at ~3-4 o'clock. Is this normal?
