EQ and mods are very different things. You can't gain clarity, tighten bass, and remove resonance due to the plastic cage using EQ. Like I had said the mods don't transform this headphone into something different, , it's not magically flat, it just improves on what the 650 is.

  HD800 would be your step up from a DT880. I've had some time to compare the two and I feel the HD800 is a step up in every way. One note the HD800 I have been using has the Anex mod done and has an 8 strand balanced cable permanently attached.

I have both and am pretty pleased with both. I certainly prefer the crack over the O2, but the O2 still does a good job with the HD600.

Haven't tried the E07/9 combo but the fiio E10 does a pretty good job with the DT770. Doesn't sounds as nice as my bottlehead crack but works for my work setup.
