PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
This is purely my opinion, so feel free to disagree. Neil's Pono is a player, which most of the people under 40 [generalisation] here would recognise and be fairly familiar. Most of those people above 25 would be familiar with CD's as well, so to get them interested, he's got this Pono...- Brendo09

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
The more I look at this the more I'm keen on grabbing one for my office. The on board storage is plenty, even if I need to get two cards for different lists. It will hook straight into my amp, and I can avoid needing a dedicated DAC to make the output decent (my PC is pretty average). ...- Brendo09

Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
I think mine came with a multi voltage transformer (110-240) and a two pin plug, with the AU 3 pin adaptor for it. Can't be sure, it's not in front of me right now. Check the transformer, it should be fairly clear what it will accept for an input voltage. Good luck with the T1, I...- Brendo09

If your facepalm is pointed at me, I'll add that when I said '...the Pono process...' I was referring to PonoMusic (the online store). The proof will be in the pudding when it opens.- Brendo09

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
This!! I don't listen to portable music enough to make a $300 Pono Player worth my while, I'm either at my work desk or in my home. My car speakers wouldn't know the difference between 320kbps or someone whacking a tree with a stick. If this Pono process can offer me, as a listener...- Brendo09

Nothing portable for me. Straight from the Galaxy S3 or off an Aune T1 on the desktop.- Brendo09

Arcorob, I use my T1 exactly the same way you have mentioned. USB in -> Tube DAC -> RCA out -> Amp -> Speakers. I only listen at very low levels and nearfield, but it still makes you sit up and listen.- Brendo09

You do get used to the twin BA sound. The bass isn't thumping, but if you're seeking something that's super easy to listen to... I love mine.- Brendo09

Audiophiles - Listening to music or to gear?
I think that the enjoyment of such a pursuit comes from the pursuit itself. It's a journey to satisfy ones self, and in many ways it's like trying to catch a unicorn. You buy a set of IEM's, listen to them, read about them, research what it is that you think you can better with the next...- Brendo09

Rockit Sounds R-50 Reviews and Impressions
I've just got these yesterday off a Head-fier. the memory wire made it maddening to have to fit over your ears every time you took them off and put them back on. I've removed the wire, and remove nearly all of the plastic covering, but left maybe 5 or 6 mm for strain relief where the...- Brendo09

"I cannot tell my wife how much I spend last night... in audio" Thread
yeah... my wife always finds out. I buy a lot of stuff and then sell it again when something else catches my eye. I used to buy new, and take a pounding when I sold it. Now, buy used, sell for about the same. She knows, but i think she's happy it keeps me off the streets. I don't...- Brendo09

Quick question
I like to poke 'em in real deep too. My ear canal heads upwards, so if I wear them the 'normal' way, the cable sits funny and pulls them out. Over the ear, they snug up in there like a tick on dog. Tight.- Brendo09

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
1) Fischer Audio FA-011 2) Alessandro MS1 3) Koss TBSE1 (no longer own) 4) Fischer Audio FA-006 5) Blaupunkt CN112 (no longer own) 6) Sennheiser EH250 - too bassy for my liking. Ugly as sin too. Can't see myself going any higher than the FA-011. It's a sweet set for the coin.- Brendo09
