Rate The Last Movie You Watched
Beginners - 8/10 Kind of a difficult subject, and a somewhat uneven pacing, but acting and writing were universally excellent. It was great to see Melanie Laurent in another really well-done movie. Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
Yeah, it's gadgety as all get-out, but man is it functional, and built like a tank. I spend a fair bit of time mocking up lighting designs at night, and the dial couldn't be easier to read. Night glow lasts forever. Plus, there's nothing cooler than flying back east, changing the watch's time...- BRBJackson

I GREATLY appreciate recommendations - carry case for HiFiMan 602
I've been raving about these bags for years... http://www.sfbags.com/products/ipodpouch/ipodgearpouch.htm I have my new HifiMAN in the left compartment, Pico Amp/DAC in the center (added a section of foam packing material so it would sit up high enough), and IEMs in the right. Case... -
Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
Decided I was done buying more battery watches, and not thrilled about having winders in my house, so picked this up few months ago... Definitely the most garish, pimped-out timepiece in the collection, but variety is always good.- BRBJackson

Awesome demo quality Jazz CD for cheap! (Music Recommendation)
LFF has never steered me wrong on music suggestions, so I just snagged this gem. There's now a $6.87 hole where my money used to be... actually, a $30.12 hole, as this motivated me to get off the stick, and pick up Wintersleep and Avashi Cohen's latest discs. In gratitude, I'll bring the...- BRBJackson

Soundmatters foxL v2 Portable Speakers
I picked up a FoxL V2 (non-BT version) a couple of weeks ago, in preparation for a six week trip back east, and knowing that my old Altec X1s would drive me insane after that much straight listening time in a hotel room... I think the little sucker sounds fantastic, but if you want an...- BRBJackson

Albums that are physically/mentally/emotionally exhausting, yet highly recommended?
Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread, but Matthew Good's "Hospital Music" is a harrowing, challenging, world-ending, yet completely addicting listen. For a Cliff's Notes version, though, just spin up "Born Losers", and immerse yourself in a biblically, epically ugly divorce. The rest...- BRBJackson

2010 - Your Favorite New Releases So Far?
I say spend at least as much $$$ on music as you do on playback equipment. To do the opposite is (to me) like building a really impressive superhighway, then only allowing 27 cars to use it, because they're really pretty cars. YMMV, as always... Quote:- BRBJackson

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Robin Trower, 'Bridge of Sighs', 24 bit remaster of the 1999 reissue (w/ Record Plant live tracks). It's got to be one of the best bargains I've ever picked up on yourmusic.com...- BRBJackson

2010 - Your Favorite New Releases So Far?
Any Sugur Ros (can't figure out the accent over the 'o'...) folks enjoying Jonsi's first solo? I may be in a minority of listeners who really liked the band, but thought that their take on the post-rock long cinematic/orchestral buildup & crescendo wasn't nearly as effective as Explosions in...- BRBJackson

Any Travel Hassles with Portable Rigs?
In the hundred or so domestic/int'l trips I've taken in the last few years, I have only had my portable rig questioned ONCE. It was a TSA agent who asked a local PD officer to check out the system. I just played some tunes through the DAP/Amp/IEMs for the cop, though, he held up my TF 10 Pros up...- BRBJackson

Westone ES3X Appreciation Thread
Thanks Eric, I kinda like it as well I actually had a driver go out on my W3s, so when I call them on Monday to get an RMA, I'll ask about the brushed finish. Just wondering if anyone here had inquired before. hmmm... ES3X + your Pico = Nirvana, I hope (not the band...).- BRBJackson

Westone ES3X Appreciation Thread
This may have been asked/answered before, but can Westone do the cool brushed metal faceplate that UE does? I created a design that incorporates that (see thumbnail), and I was going to go with UE11s to replace my dear departed UE10s. Having read Larry's impressions, though, I think the ES3x may...- BRBJackson
