Hi, Does anyone know if the 7520s have more detail than the AKG K701s? Also, do the 7520s have less bass than the MDR 1Rs? I thought those had way too much bass when I auditioned them. Cheers!

I noticed similar. Check out my previous post on the page before. This might be a hint that removing the tape from the port really lets the drivers breathe, and allows the notoriously long K701 burn-in process to happen quicker.

This mod is definitely really effective, bringing the low frequencies up to reference levels (neutral), and as a few have already noticed even allowing a bit more detail and openess.This doesn't sound possible with the K701s as they've always been considered among the most detailed headphones...
