How does anyone ever pick any headphones? The more I try and gain info, the more confused I become.!!!!!!!! If we've all got the same workings in our ears, how come everyone seems to hear different things from the same phones???????? 

I'm trying to decide on which headphone to buy to use with mp3. The above are the ones I've shortlisted but I'm quite open-minded.(as I haven't a clue really!).  I can get the P5 and es10's for roughly the same price, the 840's obviously alot cheaper.  I've been able to listen to the p5 but...

there is a good deal on the denon ahd2000 at present. My girlfriend likes the bose so i was going to get the denons. If I got an lod and an amp, what difference would i hear from an i-pod?Sorry if this sounds a bit simplistic but i haven`t a clue really.

The reason for me needing another pair of phones is the boss(girlfriend) has nicked mine, and as I now need a replacement pair I thought I`d try something else/better.

I listen to rock, indie , punk, etc. not really looking to spend much more than £200ish on the phones. That`s about $300. I do like bass

un-amped for portable use with i-pod. wide variety of music. Can anyone shed light on the pro`s and con`s of each, and if anyone has any other suggestions I would be very grateful. They have to be full size, cos I don`t like the feel of anything else. thanks in advance
