    +1 for the Sony MDR Z7. The Beyerdynamic T5P are great, brighter than the 7Zs, also almost double the price. I really like the Akg 550. I'd say these are more than a side step from the ATH Xs, especially the first two.

    yes Lockeray, the usb input broke off for me too. I'd only had the Hugo for a few weeks when it happened. The retailer replaced it almost immediately.

    Smeckles - thanks for the govibe+ suggestion. That would fit in well with the CLAS.   Any thoughts on the difference between the govibe+/CLAS and RaySamuels SR 71B/CLAS for the LCDs?

    I need similar advice. I'm looking for a portable rig for my LCD3s. I've been looking at the Algorythm Solo/ Rx MK3-b with probably an ipod . So that's about the size - bit more portable than the Pan Ams. Any suggestions?
