I sold mine here recently, so I'll answer the question. The reason is simple...I was laid off my job in Feb., and still no job prospects here in late August. Even a great sounding unit like the MPX Slam pales in comparison to the sound an empty stomach and the landlord knocking at your door...

This is very disturbing. I've followed this thread for awhile now, and kept thinking, he can't be doing this, not the guy I've talked with many times, the guy who makes such a great amp. But now, after reading of all the horror stories, and no response to it from the accused, I guess it is true...

I simply don't look at it that way. With a NOS tube purchase I'm usually going for something like a warmer tone, more clarity, wider soundstage, etc. I do the research on the net, and come up with a few options. One tube will give me the warmth I want at $40, another may add a wider soundstage...

Fairbanks, They are extremely reasonable in pricing, at least for the WE listed. I'm not sure what brand 2C51W/5670 is. That appears to be it though, for the choices there.
