They sound better than the stock GE 6BZ7s. But just started tube rolling and I see that NOS tubes can get up to insane prices. Any recommendations fin the $50 per tube range?- Bandkiller

Has anybody swapped out the cables for the headphones? If so, how did the sound change?- Bandkiller

I just picked up a Schiit Lyr and Modi. Sound was harsh with the highs and bass anemic coming from my MacBook Pro, so I rolled some JJ E88CC tubes. Instantly improved the sound: huge soundstage, bright, but not harsh highs, and controlled bass. I can't wait to burn in these tubes more!- Bandkiller

Grado SR225i vs RS1i for Rock/Metal/Country music
Burned my 225s in playing Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. I could pick up the fine details in the game like light rainfall and the clicks of cocking guns.- Bandkiller

Grado SR225i vs RS1i for Rock/Metal/Country music
My newly acquired HE-400s do a solid performance across genres, but not as "fun" as with the Grados for Rock that have the "right there" soundstage and guitar amp like voicing.- Bandkiller

I own the 225Is and they strut their stuff with rock music. It's almost as if they're mini guitar amps instead of headphones as you get phenomenal guitar sounds like a live performance or if you're in the studio. The soundstage is awesome, like you're on stage right in the studio. My only qualm...- Bandkiller
