Are you using the HEV-70 amp? Probably one of the aging drivers need more time to fully charge up since you haven't used them for a long time. I wouldn't sweat about it if they sound good after warming up. It could also be dust. Try very very gently vacuuming them to see if it helps.

Same here speaker and vinyl setup for me these days. Is there any issue with K1000 sitting unused for too long? I leave mine in the wood box when I'm done with it.

Has the K1000 market cooled off? Low $1k-ish seems to be the norm these days for most K1000s.
