What would you recommend for budget on air headphone?

I am just looking for a budget on ear headphone, preferably under $50. I have heard good things about the Grado sr80 but unfortunately the price is out of my range at the moment and I don't want to buy used. I will be mainly using this headphone for listening to music at work and recordings of...

How are the Brainwavz HM5's compared to the KRK 8400's in terms of clarity, neutrality, and soundstage? Are they basically the same but HM5 has a bigger soundstage?

I demo-ed a pair of KRK KNS 8400's yesterday and I like them for the clarity but their soundstage seemed a bit small to me. So my question is, are there headphones that have the clarity and neutrality of the KRK 8400's but also a bigger soundstage?

Just tried out the KRK 8400's, does anyone else find the soundstage to be somewhat small?

Don't know if this counts as a deal or not but I went to Best Buy today and they have the Philips Citiscape Uptown and the Citiscape Downtown for $99.

Is there a problem or defect with the KRK's when it comes to piercing/fatiguing treble? I've read some people say that they've had to return their pair and get new ones to solve the problem. How common is it to get a defect pair?

The KRK KNS-8400: you can have it all.

I went down to Best Buy today and demo-ed the Philips Citiscape Uptowns. The sound out of those sounded kind of muffled, I don't know if it was because of the settings at BB or what. I wouldn't necessarily pay $150 for them which was the instore price.   While I was there, I also tried out...

I'm think I'm going to bite the bullet and order the KRK 8400 from Amazon for $113. Hopefully it's not too terrible with my playlist in terms of treble. I just hope Amazon's return policy isn't too bad but crossing my fingers that these work out. I don't want to spend so much on headphones...

Another quick question, How is the bass when listening to songs like 'More Than A Feeling' and 'Drift Away' ? Also, how do these compare to the Creative Aurvana Lives? I'm trying to decide between the two.

How's the clamping force on these headphones? I have a relatively small head but i'm really prone to getting migraines. Also, are the cords bulky or thin or braided? And does it(the cord) go into both ears?

I'm looking to buy these but I'm not quite sold on the idea of spending so much money as of yet. I have a few questions that maybe someone can help me with.   How good is it at blocking out loud TV noise?   Also, I'm planning on using this with my ipod and laptop, can I just plug it in...

The Deals Thread (CLOSED! See the last post for the link to the new thread)

The KRK KNS 8400 are $113 at Amazon. Is this a good deal? I've been looking to get these (my first ever expensive good sounding headphones). Should I wait for the price to go lower than this?
