Your numbers seem a little skewed to me David, but if the esteemed mastering engineer had some input in the design of the product and his input had an added value to it, then no I don't see anything wrong with it. Whether or not the target market would support this added value is another story...- autonomous

"Assuming" and, "almost certainly" is not exactly empirical proof maverikronin and not demonstrable. You have to really want to believe using that criteria to claim a moral high ground.- autonomous

DM, about this topic we will probably not agree on. But at least you are civil so I will continue, but I will recuse myself of further fast-food metaphors. Not far to the south of you is the Borough of Manhattan with an avenue named Madison. AKG/HK are using repackaging to reach a consumer...- autonomous

Well I would say that anybody who bought a pair of Q-701's without listening to a pair of K-702's is probably buying them for the celebrity endorsement more than the minor sonic differences and deserves what they get. A PT Barnum quote would apply in that scenario. I think tomb said it pretty...- autonomous

Most people understand how celebrity endorsements work, and I think you do too. If anyone actually thinks otherwise take your head phone of choice and listen to Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 and repeat the phrase “Their playing my song!”- autonomous

The devil is in the details for those who can read. It says he was involved in all aspects, not that he designed every aspect of the Q-701's. Those that are posting their childish disdain here are a pretty pathetic lot indeed.- autonomous

Is there scientific evidence that "Pink Noise"-Burn-In changes the sound?
"Is there scientific evidence that "Pink Noise"-Burn-In changes the sound?" The greatest minds on Head Fi have failed to succinctly answer this question. As have the greatest minds in the world (Steven Hawking et al). I now approach history’s greatest arbitrator and here are its...- autonomous

The AKG threads are as entertaining for it’s detractors as it is for proponents! Uncle Erik is consistently pragmatic in his disapproval of the K70X series and DavidMahler is showing remarkable tolerance for them by giving them a third try due to girlfriend pressure. I am very interested to...- autonomous

Is there scientific evidence that "Pink Noise"-Burn-In changes the sound?
At the risk of getting scientific hear (sic), take two identical cables EG for an AKG 702*. Burn one of them in with pink noise at a suitable level and time for the test, the other no burn-in. Then listen to them on your preferred track of reference at your preferred listening level. Will you...- autonomous
