The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
If this is the case, how come the folks at High Resolution Technologies say (the following is taken from the FAQ for the new iStreamer: it is a high performance external sound card/audio interface that has been specifically designed to exclusively interface with modern iDevices such as the...- AML1

VenturCraft Soundroid Typhoon
Subbed. This is cheering me up from wishing I had reordered the Hifi-M8. Though, I'd pay extra to not have all the branding all over the device. Cannot wait to learn more about the sound signature. Wonder how it will sound on something like HE-400 or Fidelio X1.- AML1

Sony PHA-1 portable DAC/amp
I am eager to see this comparison too! I would love a shoot out with all the lightning-ready options (PHA-1, Verza, HiFi-M8, Apogee one, not sure of any others). My guess is it will go something like this: For harder to drive cans: Hifi-M8, Verza, PHA-1, Apogee For easy to drive: no idea...- AML1

The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
I do not disagree with you. I am contemplating buying the Hifi-m8, it would promote upgrade-itis though, as I would undoubtedly want to go to balanced at some point to see if it is noticeably better... Though my hunch is that with a 5ft cable, paying in the area of $200 for balanced cabling...- AML1

The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
I understand that however and perhaps I did this poorly in my initial post, I was expressing interest in a less expensive single ended only version. I'm likely not the only person interested in an amp/DAC solution for iPhone 5 but uninterested in paying to convert existing headphones into...- AML1

The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
The Hifi-M8 definitely looks to be a totally kick-ass product. Any chance a smaller, single-ended only version will be released? I imagine that would be fairly popular, at least with the iphone crowd. On the go, I would not use balanced terminated cans, so for me at least, I would opt...- AML1

CEntrance HiFi-M8 with Michael Goodman - Head-Fi TV - CanJam @ RMAF (2012)
The m8 size is not too big imo, especially if it can compare to, or even outperform the ALO Pan Am. I see that as a potential competitor at the size, at least for me. For me, my attraction to portable audio has 0 to do with analysis. If I want to critically evaluate music, I will sit down at my...- AML1

All about the new Apple Lightning cables/plugs...UPDATE: the plot thickens!
Hi all. Hope everyone is well. Brief background: Due to my job and research, I am fully-invested in Mac software on my iMac, iPad, and iPhone (4s). I will likely upgrade to the iPhone 5 or 6 (I read the 6 will be available in multiple sizes - kinda cool). The new lightning port has me...- AML1

HeadAmp Pico Power: Pre-Order Thread
Sorry if I missed this but, Would someone mind explaining the differences between this new model and the Slim? All I can come up with are the obvious: The Power will be a better match for higher ohm headphones. The Power is a bigger form factor. The Power will run longer on a charge when paired...- AML1
