Has anyone heard these China built AMB Beta 22 type amps?
So I've had my eye out for a B22 for AGES now, I either want to build one or buy one if the price is right. I randomly searched ebay and a few made in China ones popped up for pretty darn cheap! What do you guys think? Has anyone heard them? I'd LOVE some reviews since the price is so...- ady1989

THE Ultimate Step-By-Step Hifiman Headband Replacement Guide from OLDSTOCK Hifiman (HE-4/5LE/6/400/500) into the NEWSTOCK (HE-400i/560) !!!
I just did this to my HE500s and it turned out great. I did not remove the audio jacks though, I was just careful not to stress the wires. I covered both sides of the driver in masking tape AND put it in a bag. I took no chances with stuff getting in there. Do this very early on because if you...- ady1989

Grado modders go Magnum
The Magnums lack bass and soundstage but are way more detailed and precise, with a light emphasis on the high end. The bass on the Senngrados gets muddy at very high levels and I think it's because of resonance. The Magnum X's don't seem to have this issue and have tight bass. Both headphones...- ady1989

The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread
So a while back I purchased Senngrados from head-fi member 'soundsgoodtome' and I was not impressed by the sound. Had them up for sale and a few days ago I started messing around with them out of boredom. After the results I got, no way in hell I'm selling these now. Turns all all my gripes were...- ady1989

The Schiitstorm: Next-Gen Magni 2 and Modi 2 Family!
I have been using my HE500s with a Magni 2 for a few days and I am pretty satisfied. I eventually will switch to a better amp but I can tell you the regular Magni will run them pretty well. I bought mine to try it out since my tube amp is for high impedence headphones and does not do well with...- ady1989

IKEA Hi-Fi Stand (easy, MODULAR and f-in solid) DIY Guide
That makes me incredibly happy, great job! I would not have the patience to do the hex holes, no f-ing way. I would have bought some M8 threaded rod, drilled some holes half way in the wood and glued the rod in after it was cut to size. Yours looks awesome, and just think of the...- ady1989

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Maybe someone here can help me. I've been searching around online and I have been unable to find out the power output of the Bijou. Does anyone know what it measures? I think it's unable to drive the HE500's to very high volume due to bad bass distortion when the volume pot is at around 60% and...- ady1989

Thanks, you definitely should :). As long as you have a drill and some wood bits and a spade bit for countersinking and some stain or other finish, you're good to go!- ady1989

Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade
I contacted the folks at Schiit regarding my harshness issues - shrill highs and recessed mids and got an email back literally minutes later. Schiit confirmed that the sound will improve over time plus extending my return period by 15 days. And I'll be damned, I never in a thousand years though...- ady1989
