Subscription Tutorial

Subscriptions are the way to personalize your experience so you can be kept abreast of only the changes that you care about. You can subscribe to forums, threads, products and users whose content you enjoy reading. This way, each time you visit your subscription pages you can see what has changed, without having to sift through everything.

Adding a Subscription
There are many subscriptions available to Head-Fi'ers.
Subscribe to a Thread
When you subscribe to a thread, you will be notified when someone replies to the thread.
When you subscribe to a forum, you will be notified when someone posts a new thread or message in that forum.
When you subscribe to a product, you will be notified when someone writes a new review. You will also be notified when the description, specs, links, images, and product wiki are updated.
When you subscribe to another user, you will be notified when he or she replies or creates a new thread or writes a review.
Removing a Subscription
Removing a subscription is just as easy as creating one.
Viewing Your Subscriptions
You can view your latest subscription content from anywhere on the forums.
Changing Your Subscription Notification Preferences
When you subscribe to content, if you have verified your email address, you can choose to have email notifications delivered to you.

Adding a Subscription
There are many subscriptions available to Head-Fi'ers.
Subscribe to a Thread
When you subscribe to a thread, you will be notified when someone replies to the thread.
- Navigate to the specific thread.
- At the top of the thread (below the thread title), you will see a "Subscribe to thread" link.
- Click the link. You will receive a pop up asking if you would like to receive email notifications when there is an new post. You are now following this thread.
- You can also subscribe to the thread by selecting your subscription preference when you reply to (or create) a thread.
When you subscribe to a forum, you will be notified when someone posts a new thread or message in that forum.
- Navigate to the specific forum.
- At the top of the forum (below the thread title) and at the bottom of the thread, you will see the "Subscribe to Forum" link.
- Click the link. You will receive a pop up asking if you would like to receive notifications for new threads or new posts with an option to receive no notifications. You'll also be able to choose if you want to receive notifications via email, alerts or both.
- Click "Subscribe to Forum." You are now following this forum.
When you subscribe to a product, you will be notified when someone writes a new review. You will also be notified when the description, specs, links, images, and product wiki are updated.
- Navigate to the product page in Head Gear.
- On the right hand side, below the product header, you will see the "Subscribe to this Item" link.
- Click the link. You will receive a pop up asking if you would like to receive email notifications when there is an update. You are now following this product.
When you subscribe to another user, you will be notified when he or she replies or creates a new thread or writes a review.
- Navigate to the user's profile page.
- To the right of their avatar, you will see a "Follow" link.
- Click the link. You are now following this user.
Removing a Subscription
Removing a subscription is just as easy as creating one.
- To remove a subscription, follow the same steps as above and click the "Unsubscribe" link.
Viewing Your Subscriptions
You can view your latest subscription content from anywhere on the forums.
- Locate the (blue) navigation bar at the top of the page.
- Click "Forums."
- You will see an option for "Subscribed Threads" and "Subscribed Forums." Choose the appropriate option.
- If there are no new updates since the last time you visited, these lists will appear blank. To view all subscriptions in that category, click "Show all subscribed [threads/forums]."
Changing Your Subscription Notification Preferences
When you subscribe to content, if you have verified your email address, you can choose to have email notifications delivered to you.
- From the "Show all subscribed [threads/forums]" page, select the specific thread or forum you wish to change by checking the white box to the left of the title.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and click on the dropdown menu located on the left-hand side.
- Select the change you want to make from the list. Click "Go."
- Your subscription preferences have been updated.
