Profile Titles and Community Badges

Profile Titles
There are several different titles that you may see in a Head-Fi'er's profile. These are used to highlight specific milestones, industry relationships, community involvement, and occasionally specific details the community should know.

Community Titles
Community titles are given to Head-Fi'ers once they've reached a specific number of posts on our forums. The following titles are automatically assigned by the system based on a person's post count:
  • Headphoneus Supremus - 1500 posts
  • 1000+ Head-Fi'er - 1000 posts
  • 500+ Head-Fi'er - 500 posts
  • 100+ Head-Fi'er - 100 posts
  • Head-Fi'er - 50 posts
  • New Head-Fi'er - <50 posts
Moderation Titles
  • Administrator - A Head-Fi Administrator is one of the core community members responsible for maintaining the underlying software upon which the forums are built and gathering community feedback to help improve the forum experience for all Head-Fi'ers. They also serve as a community moderator.
  • Moderator - A Head-Fi Moderator is part of a group of volunteers who respond to forum reports, help keep conversation in discussion threads on-topic, and generally help keep Head-Fi a welcoming space for all to come and discuss their love of audio and gear.
Members of the Trade Titles
  • Member of the Trade - A Member of the Trade is a person who has a financial interest of some kind in an audio-related business and is subject to additional rules in the Terms of Service. Members of the Trade cannot post without being tagged so that people are aware of their affiliation. If you find someone clearly from a company posting, please report one of their posts so we can tag them.
  • Sponsor - A Sponsor is a Member of the Trade who has fewer restrictions as to where or what they can post as a result of their support of the Head-Fi community through sponsorship.
Custom Titles
Some users are occasionally given custom titles following exceptional community involvement, comical exchanges on the forums, or other Head-Fi-related activities. Custom titles may also be used as communal warnings in certain scenarios.

Community Badges
Badges are accolades for joining other members of the Head-Fi community at in-person events around the globe. They will be given for things such as attending or exhibiting at CanJams, taking part in regional meets or activities, and other things that we come up with. A Head-Fi'er's cumulative awards are always available in their profile under the "Awarded Medals" tab and below their profile title on forum posts.
