I am on the fence with these. In some respects….it is the best headphone I have ever heard.
1) It is by far the most comfortable headphone I have ever had on my head no matter the price.
2) tall and wide soundstage….amongst the best.
3) Deep sub bass. Undoubtedly the Most impressive extended sub bass. Most “great bass” headphones are all about mid bass. There is nothing tighter and with more presence than these. Mid bass is great too…but wow.
4)Bar none the most detailed resolving headphone I have ever heard.
5)Very nice cables and headphone stand are included.
Why am I on the ropes with these then?
No headphone is perfect and the kryptonite for the Yammy is
1) Mids have a weird hard to describe hick up on a few albums. Most noticeable to my ear was Alanis Morrisette Acoustical Version of Jagged Little Pill. Sounds nasally. 90% of what I listen to is great on this headphone but sometimes I definitely heat it.
I am sure it is fixable with EQ but I never use EQ and will never use it either. This headphone also needs a very good tube amp imo. It is plain magic with both my Bigger Ben and Trafomatic but not very good on my A&K CA1000T.
I thought I would entertain trade offers…but I very well may keep it because a TOTL headphone this comfortable is worth it’s weight in gold.
I have all accessories and packaging. This headphone is never available on the used market and so if you have thought about trying it out….and have an interesting proposal….lets talk.
Headphone are biggest interest…also a dac could interest me… No portable stuff please unless it is a throw in to make values work.
