ON SALE AGAIN, SIGNIFICANT PRICE REDUCTION. Still been in the boxes, unused, since shortly after purchase.
Putting my new WA234 monoblocks on the market, ordered in March, just got them two weeks ago. (Yes, they take more than 3 months to build, not 6-8 weeks.) This is purely for financial reasons, there is nothing wrong with the amp, it sounds spectacular. I overextended myself buying this and am happy to live with my WA5 instead. But I don't HAVE to sell so low-ball bids will be ignored. I am prepared to sell instantly if I get a good offer, though. MSRP is $16k, specs are here:
https://wooaudio.com/amplifiers/wa234mono
Only change I made from the default specs is to substitute 6SN7 driver tubes for 13EM7s. (Originally I also wanted the XLR inputs to bypass the volume controls but decided not to do that.) Some may know that the first iteration of the WA234s actually came with 6SN7s and Woo changed it to better accommodate the power needs of speakers. I don't care about speakers though and this amp has more than enough power for any headphones. (I use Plate LO-Z for the Abyss-TC. Plate HI-Z gives even more power, but for what... maybe the Susvara?)
Also, the stepped attenuators that Woo previously used for the volume controls have been replaced with ALPS RK50s. This is not a special request by me, it is a design change going forward. At first thought you'd think it would be annoying keeping two channels in balance using a pot, but I found it surprisingly easy. Typical use case is to set the pots at some reasonable value, then use an external quality pre-amp to fine-tune (I used my Benchmark HPA4.)
Amp is near-perfect cosmetically. I won't promise I didn't make some tiny scratch or nick but I cannot see anything.
Amp comes with a 3-year warranty and it is transferrable in the first year, so you will be getting this warranty.
Amp comes with the stock tubes (nothing to write home about) and the wooden suitcase containing the "keys" that let you choose output tube and gain. Amp also comes with a custom 3-pin XLR male dual to 4-pin XLR female single adapter I bought from Double Helix cables. No power cables are included.
Blocks have 110v/230v jumpers on the back so they can be used in other countries.
Amp is currently boxed up and not being used to preserve its condition.
Shipping will not be cheap. Amp is located in California Bay Area (local pickup is possible). I will ship international, but I will NOT under-declare the value to customs, please don't ask. Here are the dimensions and weights of the 3 boxes so you can calculate the cost for yourself:
Box 1: 19x16x14 inches, 70 pounds
Box 2: same as box 1
Box 3: 18x14x11, 15 pounds
