Hello,

for sale is Unique Melody's flagship Mason Fabled Sound (Mason FS).

This is the complete package which includes among other things:
- original Van Nuys case (+250 USD value).
- original cable PWAudio Attila Shielding cable (1999 USD value: https://shop.musicteck.com/products/pwaudio-attila-shielding-cable?_pos=1&_sid=1a6dd12f3&_ss=r).
- raw material of shell and faceplate.

Original price: €6000 + customs fees (https://audioessence.ch/products/un...brid-flagship-iem?_pos=2&_sid=ae3748b24&_ss=r)

The asked price is obviously a bargain, but I may accept reasonable price offers.

The technical and optical condition is mint, like new. Stationary use on desk only.

The item is also sold elsewhere. It is already packed and ready for shipment. Shipping possible with UPS Express with delivery time one day or maximum two days. Very gladly a pickup with trial listening can take place in Berlin (Germany).

If desired, I can gladly offer a call, video call or similar.

I am an active member here on the forum. 100% positive feedback can be seen here in the forum, otherwise on eBay since 2005: https://www.ebay.de/fdbk/feedback_profile/f3rmolino. So you can buy with confidence from me.

For further questions, if I should have forgotten something, please feel free to contact me.

Many thanks!

Thank you very much for the feedback.

I personally find Mason FS technically overall superior to Mentor. It immediately gives me the impression of being more coherent, mature sounding product compared to Mentor being somehow wild. This surely justifies the much higher price tag of Mason FS. On the other hand, I don't consider them to be competitors at all, but rather complementary. Briefly the main points:

Mason FS
- more emphasis on the bass and mids
- very analogic sound
- a bit more laidback
- warmer
- U-shaped tuning
- bigger soundstage in the three axes with more air
- slower transients
- better macrodynamics
- overall more immersion in the music
- premium package and shell processing (!), better cable

Mentor
- more emphasis on the mids and treble
- a bit more energetic
- a bit more forwards
- brighter
- W-shaped tuning
- more intimate soundstage with less air
- better imaging because of the emphasis on the treble which allows faster transients
- … therefore: better microdynamics
- cheap package and shell processing (!), worse cable

For me personally, Mason FS has more the character of an all-rounder. Mentor is sometimes too aggressive and a bit less resolving with complex passages. Also, Mason FS has the better vocals melting with other frequencies in a balanced way instead of being a more in the foreground as with Mentor. But apart from that, instead of Mason FS I would like to have the Xe6 for a characteristic emphasis of the bass foundation which I'm actually looking for. So Mason FS is to be replaced by the Xe6.

I tell you, as a big fan of UM, you definitely shouldn't miss Mason FS.

Plus one on your comments there mate. I also don't consider them competitors, each one has its own heart.
