Prior to commiting, i'd advise you to look at what folks in other, more knowledgeable forums have to say about the 5000.
You have some experience in this field, some you'd expect just by looking at its housing/internal structure, but it's always something when auditory impressions confirm your initial observations.

The YH 5000 SE is definitely worth seeking out. I hope you find it. This is from user experience from an experienced head-fier (the foremost headphone forum on the planet).
