I would say it is very subtle and underwhelming for my expectations, I was already testing it with tubes so I could barely make out the difference. Your mileage may vary depending on what amp you have paired with it. The burr brown DAC on my iFi Neo that it was supposed to replace just has a bit more soul overall for my tastes. The D70 Pro is still an awesome DAC tho, just a matter of preference.
