Up for sale is my recently acquired Sparkos Gemini tubed headphone amp. I recently bought this amp from another Head-Fier about 2 weeks ago and I had a chance to listen to my phones using this great little amp using the stock 6922 and 12BH7 tubes, as well as some NOS tubes I had. After I bought this amp a much more expensive amp came up for sale that I couldn't resist so I now have 3 amps and one has to go. You can see from the pictures that it is in excellent condition with no marks or scratches and everything works perfectly.
This amp uses a dual triode input that can be rolled with a variety of these tubes including the stock 6922 (6DJ8), 12BH7, 12AT7, 12AU7, 12AX7, and other noval based small-signal tubes. Each tube makes a nice difference in sound including superior NOS tubes I tried. The amp comes with the stock Electro-Harmonix 6922 and an Electro-Harmonix 12BH7. You can choose your sound by rolling these tubes which is a lot of fun hearing the differences. The output stage is solid-state and the amp puts out 2 watts into 32 ohms so it has enough power to drive most phones, including my difficult-to-drive Dan Clark Audio Stealth and RAAL SR-1b. The amp also has RCA line outputs so it can double as a preamp.
The person who sold the amp to me didn't have the original packaging but shipped it in a solid box with plenty of padding, which is how I will ship it. If you meet my asking price I will ship it to any USA address for no charge. Also, for my asking price I will include a great-sounding NOS CBS Hytron 12BH7. The manual is included. Headphones not included.
IMO this amp is the best-sounding headphone amp for its retail price of $1K and competes with other more expensive gear. There are numerous rave reviews online that you can check out to get independent assessments of its sound.
Please contact me for further information. Thank you.
