The Schiit Bifrost 4490 retailed for $400 (plus tax and shipping) and is better than the older $500 Bifrost Uber. This one is black and has their Gen 2 USB input.

I feel this is the sweet spot in DAC upgrades. Even though I was impressed by the handful of DACs I owned around $3K, I often thought DACs over $500 but under $1K weren't worth it. If you don't already have a high-end DAC and want realism beyond entry-level ones without spending a lot, this is the perfect choice. Another nice thing about this older Bifrost is that it doesn't even get warm. (The Bifrost 2 can get hot.)

I'd say it's in great condition for its age. It has minor cosmetic imperfections I can only see when the light is at a certain angle, such as a scratch on the front left side, and some sort of smudge on the top right side. The latter is not a normal scratch; perhaps it would be possible to clean it off, but I'm not sure. My photos show how it's only visible at certain angles. The imperfection on the S logo on top is so small it's hard to see in the photos. There are also a few tiny white spots around the holes on top.

It comes with a power cable and some packaging to protect it.
