Up for sale is my Schiit Audio Modi 3+ DAC in silver. It comes with the standard Schiit-supplied 5V USB charging cable and wall wart so you can either power the unit using a USB data port on your computer using the stock cable, or power the unit from an AC outlet and use your own cable for data, the configuration that sounded best to me.
The Modi 3+ is the latest version and is about 2 months old. I would estimate about 20 hours on the unit and the reason I am selling it is that I upgraded to a significantly more expensive SMSL SU-8 unit and don't need the Modi 3+ or the cable. The Modi 3+ does hold its own sonically, though, particularly having a full and punchy bass signature. Having read recently that Schiit is running out of AK4490 delta-sigma processor chips, they will eventually have to switch over to a different processor, so if you are a fan of these AK chips, you might want to get one before the change. Of course, you could order the Modi 3+ Multibit DAC from Schiit for an additional $150 and a 12-16 week lead time.
Pictured also is a 0.75m Audioquest USB A to USB B Micro cable that I used to carry data from my laptop, a retail value of $40. This cable sounds much better than standard inexpensive USB cables. Since I no longer need this cable, I will package it with the sale for an additional $15, so the DAC + cable total would be $95.
I will pay Paypal fees and shipping to the lower 48 USA states; Hawaii and Alaska may incur higher shipping charges.
