Very nice sound, matched well with many different headphones. Good output power to handle hard to drive phones. Class A design as mentioned shows itself in the natural, musical sound.

At this price this is a STEAL. BTW, also an excellent match for Grados.

My two cents worth having owned one.

I was curious about the DAC too. A head-fi thread user said it tops out at 16/48: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/impressions-on-the-musical-fidelity-m1-hpa.495909/post-8019185

I couldn't find anything else, except Musical Fidelity's manual for the unit, which advises USB 1.1 or better and a dedicated BUS port.

Sounds about right.
I know the DAC is very basic.
I never used the DAC portion of the amp.
