I just tested the two sets of tubes. The 7730 sounds really primo, but one of the Genalex ECC81 is defective. I switched channels on my amp and the static on the cans switched too. I agree that the $155 is still a decent price for the Raytheon but FYI. I'll look around for another Genalex and hope I can find one that's a decent match at a decent price. Were these two Gold Lions matched when you bought them?
