Hi,

I am selling the one pair of tubes that in my complete tenure of the hobby took most research for finding an authentic pair. This model is the most highly misrepresented tubes on the NOS market and in 99% claims of 3-rivet hole Bad Boys are not real "bad boys". The following is a summary of my research:

1. Bad Boys are named for an approximately 14-months run of Sylvania tubes starting from late 1951 to end of 1952.
2. Two holes Sylvanias are not bad boys
3. Bad Boys are always labeled with "vertical" serial number (if you see claims of Bad Boys with horizontal numbers, pass on)
4. Sylvanias of this era are labeled as follows <single code digit of year - must be underlined><week of the year manufactured>. Both of these tubes have code "152" - meaning they were made in the same factory in 1951 on the 52th week (December).
5. Short bottles are NOT Bad Boys. Example: These short bottles are NOT Bad Boys - https://www.ebay.com/itm/134414410564. An example listing of real ones are given below in this listing.
[PS. Buy these or not - hope the info from my hunt helps someone at some point if you are reading this :)]

I researched these tubes and was on a hunt for months and finally got them.

Notes:

- They sound heavenly (you can read up on the holographic nature, smoothness yet tight bass etc. all around the internet)
- Used less than 40 hours
- Completely matched pair (see the date code detail above)
- Extremely babied and well maintained
- Comes in original Sylvania boxes (making this even rarer)
- Originals are selling for crazy prices like almost $900 for a pair these days (I just googled and found this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165290832256).

Reason for selling: I am using more solid state nowadays, so I am not using my tube amp much these days. Plus, I do not get enough listening time due to work nowadays.

If you have any reluctance, please feel free to do your research (I even spoke to Brent Jesse about the authenticity of these). Furthermore, I tried to capture all the notable identifiers in the pictures.

Will ship to CONUS only. If you do F&F which I will prefer, I can price it down a bit (please read my feedback for reassurance). Shipping on me.

Thanks.

Confirmed legit! I can't tell you how annoying it is to see other tubes marked as 'bad boys.' They're specific tubes!

Other things to look for: they're bottom getter, and the distinctive 3 claws on the rectangular top plate.

Great job of creating a reference to assist others in discerning real from pretenders. When I think of the timeframe these were made in Marilyn entertaining the troops over in Korea comes to mind.
