Looking to trade my QP1R for something that would allow for streaming services as even though I love the DAP, I miss having streaming capabilities and would like to have them since I know it will make me use a DAP a lot more than I currently do.

The QP1R is in good condition, there are a couple small scratches but other than that it is working well.

I’d be looking for either a DAP in a similar performance range but with streaming capabilities, or a portable DAC/AMP that I can use with my phone.

Hi. Is it the first version of the QP1R, or the revised version with a grippier (Rubber feel) scroll wheel and a battery indicator that actually works? Also, could we see the pictures of the scratches?

Regarding a DAC/AMP, I have a one month old EarMen TR-Amp in red. It's probably more transportable than portable, but you will have to decide.

Hi, I am not sure which version it is as I was unaware there were actually two versions, I’ll look into that and update the listing with what I find. As for the scratches, I have updated the listing with pictures of the scratches.

Thanks for the offer, I’ll need to look into it as I don’t know much about the TR-Amp.

Hi. The easiest way to tell is the scroll wheel of the original version feels metalic. The revised version has a plastic/rubbery feel. Don't bother emailing Questyle a serial number, as they never and I mean NEVER answer their emails. Also, there is no UK distributor for Questyle. SVC Distribution used to be, but they either lost or quit several years ago. So there is no option if you need your unit repaired. Hence the low value on the second-hand market.

Does the battery indicator go from 100% to the unit turning off in a linear fashion? Because nearly all of the original versions the battery would stay at a certain level, say 80% for hours, and then suddenly say 5% and turn off shortly afterwards. Questlye recalled all faulty units, even the ones out of guarantee and repaired them in China or wherever they are from. The distributors from the country of purchase supplied loan units, whilst that happened. Must have cost Questyle a fortune.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t realise that all of that had happened with the QP1R. I think it is the revised model, as the wheel seems to be pretty grippy to me.

So does the scroll wheel feel metallic or rubbery and does the battery indicator work from 100% to 0% in a linear fashion with no large jumps?

It feels like more of a smooth plastic, and from what I remember from using it, I think it has had jumps in the battery indicator
