This was a tough decision. The Dark Star was my end-game amp when I first bought it from a friend, who bought it from Ray himself. It has served me very well during my four-year ownership. I'm only selling it because I have too many dynamic headphones and don't have a pair of planar that the Dark Star deserves, like the Abyss 1266.

Performance wise, this is simply one of the best amplifier for planars. If you have a lot of dynamic headphones like me, don't buy this, and don't even think about IEMs. This was designed to drive the OG HE6, so that's what it should do.
When paired with a proper planar, the sound is otherworldly. The dynamic range and response are lightning-like, powerful and fast. The sound stage is wide yet precise, with excellent separation between each instrument. Vocals are also full-bodied and emotional... In a word, it sounds astonishing.

There is no cosmetic imperfection that I can see. Will provide more pictures in better lighting if requested. It will come with original spikes, pads, and umbilical cord. Power cord upon request and no original package, will pack carefully and ship insured.
