Hey all, got another pair of headphones for sale. This time it's my Hifiman HE-5.
These were purchased new from a seller in Singapore who had opened the headphones just to confirm that they worked, just a few months ago. They are from a reissue from Hifiman, not the very original run of the HE-5, but from what I understand they sound just the same. Selling them today because I really don't use them much, as I own the HE-500 which to me sound better. This is sort of an interesting headphone in that they do a lot well: their bass goes deep, with plenty of power, with a very large soundstage and quick sound. The problem is the mid range sounds a little artificial, and treble can be a little much. I feel like these really need someone to modify and tweak them to get them into line.
This reissue comes with the plastic cups as stock, but also includes wooden cups and buttons. Also included is a velour carrying pouch, and single ended cable that's actually kinda nice; certainly better than the modern stock cables Hifiman ships with!
