What a combo!
I jumped on the HE-6se v2 on Adorama when they dropped down to $600. Say what you will about the build and design (specifically the headband), but you cannot take away from how these sound when properly powered.
Speaking of power…the EF-400 is a fantastic ’NOS’ like amp. I say like, because it’s not NOS…at all. What it is is a really nice R2R dac/amp that has LOADS of power and voltage for that hungry HE-6se v2.
It’s a lovely combo, and I’ll be sold as such.
I don’t have the original box for these, but they will come very well packaged.
Try to find a better setup for $800.
