I have three -- count 'em -- three pairs of LCD-2 Classic Closed back headphones.
Why? Sold my pair of the older model to get the newer cups / design. The one I got had suede pads on it. Comfy and chill, but I wanted another pair for work and one with the stock pads on it... so I bought another pair of the new model on May 5th. I noticed the firmness of the pads was different. I confirmed with a Audeze rep that the newer model has a softer pad that he says "smooths things out". He said he prefers them and has upgraded all of his cans to the new pads. Personally, I like the old ones as I think they maintained more of the bass. I just acquired an "original model" via a trade, so now I have my two new models (one with suede pads + one with new stock pads) PLUS one older model. I'm going to keep the suede pads set for a "change of pace", but the one with the new stock pads is up for grabs. Physically and sonically flawless. Comes with original box from Audeze, SE 1/4" stock cable (never used as I used my braided Audeze balanced cable that I use for all of my Audeze + ZMF cans).
