Unique Onkyo A800 in great condition! Almost like new. Working perfect.

I believe currently this is the only A800 for sale. So the starting price is higher. It is negotiable and depands on general interest from buyers and offers.

I don't know Fidelio, but I heard many headphones including some TOTL (Susvara, Abyss, RAAL, LCD5, D8000 Pro and more). Onkyo of course is not on level of these but it is veery good. But when you look for something with touch of warm, beautiful midrange, powerful but well controlled, fast bass and combined with spacious presentations turns out you don't have so many options on the market.. Think about HD600 (older and warmer one) midrange with everything else improved :)

One second Google search - literally buy these new in Europe for €339....

Maybe I should buy the entire stock and resell them on Head-fi for €900.

Are you sure ? :) these are discontinued and not available new anymore. Even if some shop has them displayed you can't make an order.

As I see on this site klangtastisch in deed you can make an order but then you need to wait for confirmation. So I doubt it is available, but for curiosity I am but waiting for their response (just to check, not to buy another :))

And just take a look what amp @Saberpunch is using for his A800 :wink: Allnic HPA-5000XL is very impressing, grats! It just shows what potential they have. Tubes are perfect world for A800.
I am still listening and enjoying Onkyo in the meantime also on tubes with peculiar amp - Yamamoto HA-02 :), which is low power but quite capable with sensitive headphones. But the more time I spend with Onkyo the more I am impressed.. With holographic soundstage it can easily stand up to TOTL planars.
