Hi,
I just picked up a pair of Tungsram welded plate foil O getter EL84s from @Wes S. I like them a lot and would like to secure a backup pair if possible. Let me know if you have a pair you’d be willing to sell or trade. Here’s what they look like:

I have a super nice (and rare) pair of Funkwerk Erfurt welded plate foil disc getter EL84s I also got from @Wes S. I’d be happy to do a straight swap for these. Here’s a pic of them:

I also have various other EL84s in other brands like Mullard, Amperex, Ei, and Sylvania that I’d be open to trading. Just let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll get you some pictures and details.

Thanks for looking,
CK

I was Going to ask him the difference his for sale and these: http://www.audiotubes.com/6bq5.htm

New Old Stock in original box and whiteboxes. Great 60s-70s vintage European tube sound! Early Tungsram production from Austria, easy to spot by their large silver getter spots on the top, sides, and bottom, but these have various other brands on the labels. These tubes are similar to Telefunken in quality, and just as scarce. Perfect for European antique radio restoration. Priced per single tube.

According to Wes, the best sounding varieties are the welded plates. There were two versions with welded plates, the oldest have foil O getters and the ones after that came with solid foil getters. I’ve only tried the welded plate O getter type and agree with Wes, they do sound excellent.

What is “excellent”? What changes can I expect in the sound? I’m interested in these.

I'm looking to buy myself. I'm not selling these tubes.

I want to buy too, hence my comment.
Sorry, I thought you wanted to buy from me. I was just making it clear that you are commenting in my “Want to buy” listing. This isn’t a normal thread where things are discussed. I suggest you take a look at my posts in the Quicksilver Headphone Amp thread where I posted my impressions. @Wes S also posted quite a lot about the different Tungsram EL84s in the Pendant thread as well.
