FIY, Golden Era was a supposed production series of the HD 650 according to Japanese modder Delrimour Modern Audio Akoustik. It was thought to be made somewhere around 2014-2015, much later than 2008-2010.

While there is speculation that those "GE" models are improved in terms of build and sound, I have personally seen no evidence of this claim. It doesn't make much sense for Sennheiser to improve their HD 6-- for two years before downgrading them again.

Hello Svstem,

Thanks for the input there. On another forum, it was claimed that any SS made pre-150k was considered to be "golden age" but it doesn't seem like anyone has a conclusive idea, hence why I put "supposedly". It seems as though you may also be speculating on the time period and sound differences, but I'll go ahead and remove that comment on GE to avoid confusion for the listing.

Thank you,
Ryan

I appreciate the explanation. I'm not certain when people started calling the sub-150k units "Golden Era" but it probably isn't referring to the original meaning that DMaa coined. For further info if you're interested, here's a writeup on the HD 650GE Meisterklasse modification by DMaa:

Best of luck with the sale!
