I'm looking to trade my Abyss 1266. This is the original model. Comes with box and original cable.overall good condition, a few scratches here and there but nothing major.

reason for trading? They are just simple too much for me. I realized i don't need this much detail, it's fun but at the same time it's so honest. If the mix sucks than it will suck 😕 I want a headphone were everything sounds good no matter the mix.

Dont get me wrong, this headphones kickbutt and are hands down the best I have heard to date. It's like having a theater over your head.

FYI: I have Hifiman susvara and HE100SE -- both has more detail than 1266, if you don't want detail those two are not good fit for you!!!! specially HE1000SE... it has single handedly destroyed many of my favorite class songs due to bad mix or mistakes in the track

Your probably right but still worth the shoot. Sometimes the sound signature makes a big difference.

Personally I love susvara, it is magical.... however if you are listening to classical music and vocal HE1000SE i think is the BEST headphone period! no other options comes close. Except if you want little bit more fullness and boomer bass LCD-4 :D

PHI will be almost the same but with less space and bass (not all that comfortable)
Susvara (which I have) are great, but similar tons of detail. VERY comfortable. Sonically not quite as good as TCs (bass and stage) Comfort was what I was looking for
ZMF might be a good choice.

Solution for your needs may be in the electronics as well and not just in HPs. You may like musical amps. I use Flux labs FA-10 Amp / FCN-10 ( DAC & Amp) , this Class A amp was "tolerant" to bad recordings and I have lot of sub par non english songs recordings BTW , especially smooths hot treble but it's still fun & detailed without treble roll off. Many Tube amps can be a solution as well. I found HE1000 V1 HP to be relatively non fussy towards a mix of recordings but technically it will not match 1266. One "throw any song, I will sound good" HP I can recommend is Mezze Emperean which is an easy listen

I've owned over a hundred headphones, including the SR1a, Mysphere 3.2, Utopia, LCD-4z and HE1000se. If you're looking for a headphone that sounds consistently good with all sorts of music (not just high quality material), the Fostex TH900mk2 is my personal favorite, and is what I use for the time being. These things are subjective, though, so I can't guarantee it would be ideal for you.

What others have said about the rest of the system being important is true as well. Any headphone or loudspeaker will scale with better gear. I'm using a $10,000+ system. In my experience, the amplifier, power conditioning and power cables are some of the most influential components. Still, if a headphone isn't a good fit for you, I doubt a better system would change that.
