any idea what sort of price itd be to ship to the UK and would i get battered by import taxes and stuff?

I don't know how import taxes work in other countries, but usually it tends to be a percent of the nominal reported price at the time of shipping.

As for the cost itself, it is about 49.5 USD according to a quote i got from the national post office website. But shipping would be split 50/50 between seller and buyer.
