It’s with a very heavy heart that I am listing an absolutely fantastic TOTL tube amp offering from Bottlehead, their Mainline. I was lucky an honored to have owned this amplifier (which I got from another member here), but recent situations have forced me to downsize.

What can I say about this amp that hasn’t already been said? Well, if you’re a lover of planers, but might want a different presentation of sound without using EQ…then get a Mainline. If you’re looking for an amp that shows you how far aHD600/650/580 will scale…get a Mainline. If you love your HD800, but want even more detail and less of a ‘fake’ soundstage…get a Mainline. It’s quite possible that the Mainline is one of the best amplifiers for Sennheiser and low impedance planars out there.

As you can see in the photos…the transformer was never sealed, so it’s showing some character, but I personally love that look. If you don’t like it…it’s a relatively easy fix and the Bottlehead forums have several posts on how to refinish it if you so choose. It doesn’t impact the sound, but some people aren’t in to that worn-in look.

**UPGRADES**
In Feb. of 2021 I placed an order at Woo Audio for a set of Electro Harmonix 6C45Pi Gold-Pins, and they were delivered to me in May of 2021. These tubes have around 50 hours on them, so not even fully broken-in.
