Cowon i audio 7 and J3. Etymotic custom earplugs <== if your ears ring after concerts or clubs, and you go out a lot, save your hearing My past included quite a few years of high-end audio including Theta, Audiolab, Arcam, Audio-Note, Merlin, NHT. And a wife who was exasperated by the fuss and the clutter! |

Xnor's Graphic Equalizer component for Foobar. It is a very well implemented tool, and I think it keeps the original music intact. Flatten out your headphone's frequency response if needed (especially that treble hump) and enjoy the real sound of the music more. IMHO this component is what makes a laptop easily surpass a CD player for headphone use as almost all headphones need some equalization. |
| Music Preferences |
Instrumental mainly. Original blues. The original jazz masters. Electronic experimental and ambient. Rock and roll from the 60's and 70's. All the music that flowed out of the Mississippi delta basically. |
| Gear-Fi (Favorite Non-Audio Gear & Gadgets) |
When you are a bedside head-fi guy, use tack to "stick" the front of your laptop or netbook down to your night table. That way you can reach out of bed and open your laptop lid with only one hand. And it never slides around. |
