Tried all the possible permutations of opamps and buffers supplied with the iBasso D10. Settled on an AD8656 Opamp with dummy buffers - until I got in touch with HiFlight and bought his Topkit with its two TLE2141 single channel opamps (silver-soldered onto an iBasso adapter so they still fit into the single-chip socket and keep my iBasso warranty) and a pair of EL8201 buffers; sounds amazing! I have found that pure silver headphone cable gives my Sennheiser HD650's a bit more light, balancing out the slightly dark sound without sacrificing any bass punch or definition. The Audez'e greatness also has a touch of the dark side (to these ears anyway) so I plan to give my LCD-2's the silver cable treatment too. |
