Audio-Related Tweaks

Until recently I've never owned or even had much interest in audiophile amps, speakers or headphones, but I've attended thousands of intimate musical performances sitting close to the instruments so hopefully I will appreciate audiophile equipment as I eventually acquire it.

I think most postings on Head-Fi are delusional nonsense or utterly pointless idle chatter. I don't trust people who are trapped in consumerism and the mythology of equipment. I don't trust people who select bland, mediocre, middle-of-the-road music as the basis for the opinions about equipment. I would rather listen to great music with the cheapest stock headphones or boombox speakers than listen with the best possible equipment to the drivel audiophiles tend to use in their reviews.
