Interestingly I've found through some digging that just as ATC rightly points to it being the use of their speakers and amps for such pivotal events as the re-mastering for SACD of 'Dark Side of the Moon', Shunyata was chosen as the power management (?) network for the same event. "James Guthrie’s re-mastering of Dark Side Of The Moon for SACD at Guthrie’s Das Boot Studio." link. Related, I already knew Pink Floyd's David Gilmour used ATC at home but now know it's used with Shunyata as well. Evidently there seems to be a synergy....but of course of the very top of the line Shunyata products, out of my reach!

Keep in mind that many times commercial products are used at the pro studios for a PR reason.

I have to say hard to believe that Billy Woodman ( the desginer & founder of the ATC) would care about wires.

You're right. I imagine Billy, the transplanted Aussie, to be a real, real world guy=zero BS.
No semi, no pseudo, no silly, just the goods thank you very much.
I think his audio priorities are on target enough that they have had cryogenic treatment.
Besides Billy would not have been in control of the DSOTM event.

Anyway, dear Speed Demon the timing issue would never have occured to me based upon reading Shunyata info. Their cords meant for amps have 30 amp capacity and are called 'Pacesetters'. Of course that's their blah-blah-blah and only hearing is believing. But I do find the passive 2lb Hydra Model-2 a cute little bugger. It doesn't seem restrictive @ 2400 watts (continuous – not a peak rating) 20-amps continuous capability? I may take a 30 day trial.
