Sound Reducing Foam Panels?

Thread Starter
Does anyone have a recommendation for where you can buy sound reducing foam panels that can be placed behind a computer or other slightly noisy components to help reduce sound reflections off the wall and lower the noise a little?

I'd like to get some beige ones to match the walls if possible..hopefully not more than 1-2 inches thick..to place behind my computer and possibly my amp (it has some transformer hum). Thanks

foambymail.com You can also try ebay. Use burlap to cover the foam if you can't find a color that matches.
I would recommend rigid fiberglass if you want to treat your room for speakers though. Again, use burlap to cover.

Musician's Friend, J&R, etc have the kind that look like egg crates for a reasonable price. I've been thinking of picking some of these up to tame the acoustics in my place.

Sorry to jack the thread, but I strongly urge you to use fiberglass, jefemeister. Very much superior to foam for acoustic treatment, especially if you get the 5+lb.pcf rigid fiberglass panels. They really work well. Foam can't handle the midrange and down, only highs. The brand doesn't really matter. Owens-Corning is the popular brand but they sell in larger bulk. Certainteed sells in smaller packages.

Try Sonex pads which can be bought in packages of 2X2 ft tiles

Try doing a search on Audio Circles for a wealth of information related to modifying acoustics.
