I'm selling a Pioneer A-35R integrated speaker amplifier on eBay:

This amp is rated at 60W per channel (into a 4 ohm load). This unit was gently used and is in excellent working and cosmetic condition. The remote control, power cord, and manual are included.

Unlike a lot of inexpensive solid state amplifiers (which tend to sound harsh and bright) the Pioneer Elite A-35R sounds warm and refined. Also, unlike some low cost digital amps, this amp has very solid, iron-fisted control over the bass. I've owned a variety of amplifiers over the years, and this unit is my favorite under $400. In particular, this is a better amplifier than the NAD C320BEE, which I also used to own, even though the C320BEE costs quite a bit more.

The headphone jack is surprisingly good, particularly with headphones with >100ohm impedance. Like the main power amp, the headphone amp is smooth and refined, especially in comparison to other solid state amps.

Various other people on Head-Fi have said good things about this amp. For instance, Unclewai has said: "...my cheapy (pricewise) Pioneer Elite A-35R trumps the denon when it comes to music. The A-35r can make any speakers sound decent and decent speakers to sound great."

You can read a variety of reviews of this amplifier at AudioReview . Some highlights:
  • "An absolute bargain in a sea of overpriced audio equipment, this little amp provides clean, consistent and rich power...."
  • "This is an economy gem. I bought this for my office system. I also hooked it up to some nice towers with ribon tweeters I recently built. Pleasantly surprised me. Very clear & detailed, good headroom, warmer sounding than most SS amps."
  • "I can't believe how good it does sound given the price. My remote from my main system costs more! Anyone looking to put together a good quality two-channel system on the cheap needs to hear the A-35R."

that looks like a speaker amplifier, can you use highend headphones in it too?

Yes, it is an integrated amplifier for speakers. However, it does have a good headphone jack, especially if you're using it with headphones with >100 ohm impedance. The sound is smoother and warmer than some other speaker amps with headphone jacks I've tried, such as the NAD C320BEE. That said, with low impedance headphones such as Grados, the bass does get a little tubby. Overall though, it's a very nice unit and a good value.
