Toshiba - 4960

I've heard great things about the Toshiba 3960 and best buy has it on sale right now for $50. However, it does not support DVD audio or SACD. Does the 4960 still have the supposedly amazing sound that the 3960 does and if so, it it really worth shellling more than twice what the 3960 costs in order to get the 4960? Thoughts?

Oops, when a mod sees this can they please move it into the source component thread? I didnt realize i was in FS/FT. Thanks!

From memory, the 3960 is more neutral than the 4960, but the 4960 sounds smoother. I perfer the sound of the stock 4960 to the stock 3960. I feel the 3960 also has QC issues, while the 4960 is much better made. The 4960 is actually a rebadged samsung (hd-841 i think? forgot). Anyways I don't feel that the hype is just hype. Neither sounds very good without mods, but the stock sacd playback in the 4960 is kinda cool.
